How did this shape the art of the time? What are the shortcomings of this formulation?

The articles for this unit all deal with Second Wave Feminist art. The selections by Schapiro/Chicago and Lacy should be considered “primary sources” whereas Jones and Garrard are examining the subject with some more critical distance. Using information from at least two of the selections, consider how “womanhood” was defined in the 1970s. How did this shape the art of the time? What are the shortcomings of this formulation? Your essay should have a clear introduction and conclusion and use information from your chosen readings. Outside research is not required but please cite any sources consulted.
