List and describe the input sources used to test each of the AI services.
Explore each of the following NLP AI service demonstrations using two (2) different input data sources.
When generating or selecting input sources be sure to use differing content and tone (e.g. positive and
negative) so you will be able to explore the functionality and depth of the AI services. You should use
the same two input sources to test each of the AI services as this will provide a baseline for comparison
of the results.
a. IBM’s Natural Language API https://www.ibm.com/demos/live/natural-languageunderstanding/self-service/home
b Snap Logic’s Natural Language API: https://www.snaplogic.com/machine-learningshowcase/natural-language-processing
When exploring these NLP AI services be sure to document the following:
a. List and describe the input sources used to test each of the AI services.
b. Show and explain the outputs resulting from each of the AI services.
c. When explaining the results, discuss and justify (or refute) the output. For example, if the score
was positive (or high) discuss why this seems correct (or incorrect).
d. Compare the two results. Consider the following discussion topics to compare the products. Do
both seem to yield similar results? Is one easier to use than the other? Is one better than the
other? Does one provide more options? Would you recommend one over the other? These are
your opinions, so there are no right answers. Provide your first impressions of the products.
The project should show
1. Microsoft’s Text Analytics versus Google’s Natural Language API. In this section of the document
you should:
a. List and describe the input sources used to test each of the AI services.
b. Show and explain the outputs resulting from each of the AI services. Scroll down and
select different tabs to view all of the results. Note you do not need to discuss the JSON
tab for the Microsoft topic and the Syntax tab for the Google product as these results
are outside of the scope of this course. Be sure to include screen captures supporting
the use of these tools to help document your journey.
c. When explaining work to discuss and make sense of the output. For example, if the
score was positive (or high) discuss why this seems correct (or incorrect).
d. Compare the Microsoft and Google AI service results. Consider topics like these to
compare the products as well as others that you would like to add. Do both seem to
yield similar results? Is one easier to use than the other? Is one better than the other?
Does one provide more options? Would you recommend one over the other? These
are your opinions so there are no right answers. Provide your first impressions of the
products.
