Unit plans are the overall bigger picture in the scope of student learning. Each lesson plan that comprises a unit must make connections from preceding lessons and to proceeding lessons. This is especially true when effectively incorporating literacy in a meaningful manner.
Use the “COE Lesson Plan Template” create the second content area lesson for the three-day unit. Focus on utilizing literature-based materials and cooperative in this lesson. Make sure that your learning objectives align to the content area and ELA standards identified for the unit.
The first lesson plan I did was for secondary education severly handicapped class. I had the students gather and I read a story on feelings. We used paper plates and sticks to decorate the plates with happy faces, sad faces etc. We incorporated vocabulary words etc.
